Max Ginsburg

I love Max Ginsburg street paintings, and also his old illustrations. His realism may be a little hard to look at sometimes, but he is a real master of painting.
This article explains some of his processes.

Cat - Chat

Acrylic on canvas, 30cm*40cm
A cat painting I'm working on and not very satisfied with for the time being. I think it will sit for a while in a corner of my studio waiting to be either completed or liked.
Une expérimentation en forme et couleurs dont je ne suis pas entièrement satisfaite. Il va attendre dans un coin de mon atelier, soit une modification, soit qu'il me plaise mieux...

Jason Seiler

Jason Seiler 's Pope Francis portrait for the cover for Time Magazine is impressive. Its painting process is detailed in this article. It is surprising to see he is working on a digital tablette.

Illustration Friday - Suspense

In my sketchbook, still trying my new acrylic gouache paints.
I find them a bit difficult to master, being more used to the transparencies of watercolor.
The Matrioshkas are inspired by delyo, whose drawings I admire a lot.
Suspense is opening a matrioshka and finding the one nesting in it.

How to "pollock" your way in a video game

The Unfinished Swan is a video game where you splash paint to be able to see otherwise invisible objects. Still in development, but seems fun.

Disaster Preparation

That's a grim subject, but the layout and the icons used for this site are well-chosen and striking in a modern, industrial way.
Moreover, it could be useful.

Posemaniacs

Browsing Ghislaine Bruno's blog, I found a tool that could be handy for artists wishing to work on the human figure without a real "Modèle Vivant" studio nearby.
Posemaniacs offers human figure images and some exercises to do in front of your pc such as "30 Second Drawing", "Negative Space Drawing", "Random Pose Viewer" and "Hands for Drawing".
It seems interesting.

Comment edition

Hi all, long time no publish...
I have some posts to do soon, but I wanted first to say that I'm forced to moderate the comments for the time being, owing to the apparition of quite a few adds in them.
That will just delay a bit the publication of your comments.

See you!

Added later:
It seems it didn't work properly the first time, I removed an unwanted comment today, but I'll fix it. I still don't want any Ipods, Plastic business cards, rolex or whatever, thank you very much...

Marie-Laure's book

Maire-Laure Alvarez, (Fenetre sur mes couleurs ), a fellow painter and a friend, just wrote a children's book, with another artist, Amelie Callot, doing the illustrations.

Some pages from the book are visible on Marie-Laure's site (Fenetre sur mes couleurs ), really enchanting and poetic.

The book is available on the editor's site (Le Crebassou ) , in french.

Congratulations, Marie-Laure!

I did my first own show!
Near the Town Hall of my town, there is an old house used for shows. I rented space there and put my paintings on the wall. It is a strange but exhilarating feeling to have all this space for oneself!
